Sr. José A. García
Biografía
My Family includes four brothers and three sisters. I was born in the high remote mountains of Colombia in the town of Santa Barbara. We lived in an even smaller remote town called Damasco before my mother moved us to the metropolis of Medellin where I graduated from High School at La Salle.
I immigrated to the United States in 1984 and became a Citizen in 1996. My College education began at Mayland Community College in Spruce Pine, NC and continued at UNC-Asheville where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish/Education.
My first teaching position was at A.C. Reynolds Middle School and I have taught at Cane Creek and Owen Middle schools as well. I moved to Kentucky in 2014 and began teaching at Reidland Middle and McCracken County High Schools. This year I am with two schools again; Reidland Intermediate and Middle.
My other interests include cooking, jogging, beachcombing, swimming, listening to many different types of music and horseback riding. When time and budget permits, I enjoy traveling to Colombia for family visits.
